Julia Teti and Sam Noland join Jon Negroni for an Indie Panel discussion of Wild Rose, a new drama about a country music singer (Jessie Buckley) who lives in Scotland but dreams of somehow going to Nashville to realize her dreams, despite all the obstacles standing in her way.
Our theme music for this episode is “Euston Hustle” by The Bluegrass Smugglers on the official soundtrack for Wild Rose. The song “Glasgow (No Place Like Home)” from the same album can also be heard during the review.

This might be my favorite movie of the year, and I’m thrilled to see Jessie Buckley getting recognized now overseas. We discovered her in the UK some time ago, not to brag 😉
I like this ongoing attention to smaller films in the bonus episodes. Sometimes I don’t have time to listen to the whole episode, and I’ll miss one where you talk about a film I’m curious about.
Just checked and Jon’s right about Mary Steeenburgen writing “Glasgow.” Phenomenal!
