Hey there, buddy-boys and buddy-gals! This week, we might just have the key to your next favorite movie, The Apartment, which recently celebrated 60 years since its initial release. Widely considered to be one of Billy Wilder’s true masterpieces, this romantic dramedy stars Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, and Fred McMurray. We discuss the film’s impact on our own movie-going lives, play some of our favorite clips, and have a spirited debate about this either being a “Christmas movie” or a “New Year’s” movie.

Jon and Julia are such a good podcasting pair! I’d love to hear you two do a special series of your own about romantic comedies or something. If you told me you two are siblings I’d extra believe it XD
OMG YES
THE APARTMENT became my favorite movie when I was in college and we watched it on Halloween for some reason. My boyfriend at the time was a huge fan and wanted me to like it, and I think he was shocked when I ended up loving it a lot more than him! He was a bigger fan of Jack Lemmon’s character, but I was utterly in love with MacLaine’s performance like Julia.
I’m watching The Apartment because of you guys! Thank you so much for the weekly Extra Milestone. Btw, will there be a Psycho episode soon? 😛
Regards from Brazil as always.
There will be!
