This podcast was recorded during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, the movie being covered here wouldn’t exist.

You’re not going to believe this, but Disney made another movie based on a theme park ride that barely anyone watched. That’s right, we’re talking about Haunted Mansion this week, based on the Disneyland attraction and a reboot of the 2003 film starring Eddy Murphy. It’s not exactly scaring people into buying a ticket so far, but you better believe we’ll exorcise caution in our takes. And most importantly…how does it compare to Muppets Haunted Mansion?

Haunted Mansion was directed by Justin Simien (Dear White People, Bad Hair) and written by Katie Dippold. The film stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto (sort of?) The film opened in theaters on July 28 through Walt Disney Pictures and has a 123-minute runtime.

Our intro music this week is “Which One?” by Glimlip & .multibeat.
