House of the Dragon just finished its first season, and special guest Julia Teti is here to talk about it! Building off of the massive success of HBO’s Game of Thrones (that last season, besides), House of the Dragon returns viewers to the world of Westeros, based on the novels by George R.R. Martin, specifically as a prequel series set nearly 200 years before the adventures of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. We discuss how House of the Dragon differs from its predecessor, either successfully or less so, and analyze what the show is saying about gender, power, and our attention spans for bloody high fantasy. Also, be sure to check out Julia’s recap of the finale for The Daily Beast right here.
